Level Six Enters the Stand Up Paddle Board Market

Level Six—manufacturers of innovative, quality paddling gear, apparel and accessories—is excited to announce the launch of its line of stand up paddleboards (SUP’s) available in spring 2015; offering 10 models of SUP boards to choose from including one inflatable.

Level Six is best known for pioneering original, distinctive casual apparel and manufacturing the best working paddling gear on the market. In its ongoing endeavour to redesign, challenge and recreate paddling gear, Level Six is now expanding into the stand up paddleboard market.

The sport of stand up paddling has exploded in popularity over the past three years and continues to grow. Originating from Hawaii’s surf scene, the sport has swept across North America as anyone, at any age, and in any body of water can pick up a paddleboard and fall in love with the sport.

“It is an exciting move for Level Six to enter the SUP market. We saw the sport emerging and we were very excited. SUP combines our passion for surf and paddling, we have an innovative line of quality boards to offer consumers and the timing is right.” States co-owner, Stig Larsson. “Our boards are aimed at both the first time user and experienced stand up paddler; offering the ideal combination of stability and performance. We have something for the surfer and the flatwater paddler alike.” Larsson’s business partner and co-owner, Tyler Lawlor, adds, “Stand Up Paddling has proven to be a great platform for people looking to get out on the water for exercise and or just to explore. People who never considered kayaking are taking up SUP.”

Level Six SUP boards will be available this spring across Canada at Mountain Equipment Co-op.

About Level Six: Canadian National team paddler, Stig Larsson, and Canadian Olympic paddler, Tyler Lawlor, were tired of wearing mediocre gear in outdated styles. They wanted their own style and personality represented in their paddling gear and apparel, so they started a company in 1997 that did just that. Since then, Level Six has been setting trends on the water and pushing the boundaries of quality and fashion within the paddling community. With distributors and retailers worldwide, Level Six offers over 250 paddling products for whitewater kayaking, sea kayaking and SUP; providing paddlers with what they need to get the most out of their time on and off the water.
