So the UK is building a brand new white course course in the middle of a really flat part of UK. Great - More white water on our little island. The only issue, as far as I can see it, is that it is designed for the Slalom Olympics, which means, narrow, fast and shallow. Not great for other white water users. However, there is a bright side, the UK Government has put aside a load of cash to convert the white water course to a sustainable facility after the 2012 Olympics and I have been asked to contribute to design changes to make sure it has good freestyle potential. Cool!
But I need your help. What makes somewhere good for freestyle and playboating? We only have 16 cumecs to play with but what do you want to see on the river? Tell me all about it and keep up-to-date with developments at my Facebook Group:
