2010 Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival
Every May for 27 years whitewater enthusiast have converged on the Upper Clackamas River for a weekend of competition and good times. While paddlers may not have heard of the Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival they may be familiar with the play spot known as Bob's Hole. Both are on the Clackamas River aprx. 1 hour out of Portland. For paddlers who haven't heard othe UCWWF it is a great event with plenty of cool things happening! Kayak events include playboat mass start, boater X or boater cross which is 4 person head-to-head through gates, freestyle, downriver racing, slalom, and freestyle aerial ramp.
There is great beginner, intermediate and expert paddling close by depending on flows. The NF Clackamas, Roaring R., Collowash and June Creek are fun intermediate to expert runs. For some class 2-3 action Bob's Hole to Memaloose is a good option.
In 2011 the Upper Clackamas Whitewater Festival will be hosting the National Rafting Championships so come on out to Oregon and check it out!

The Big Air Ramp is always a crowd pleaser, thanks for the pics Tobin!
For some head-to-head action the Boater X is where it's at. Four paddlers head to head sprinting through gates in creek boats, guaranteed carnage!
After racing on Saturday competitors will enjoy a free BBQ, music and a night of partying!
Make sure to mark the UCWWF on your 2011 calenders!
