The Fjord is a great dry suit, I had trouble with the zipper initially, now I clip a caribinder with a short length of paracord to the pull, zip it shut then remove the caribinder and problem is solved. Overall a great suit.
It’s not possible to close the ziper alone , it is to hight, but for the rest it is good
I just used this for the first time on the water. It is a very well made drysuit. Quality is excellent and Canadian made I believe. My only fault with it is the clam entry in the rear. This is a big pain. If I would have know it would be so difficult to put on and off alone I would have looked for something else. I am sure it will get easier to deal with the more I use it but as of now when you try to zip it up behind you it keeps getting caught in your shirt or the suit. As I get older this will definitely not work. So I can’t see myself owning this to long.
Fjord Dry Suit
Was excited to get this suit as I bought my wife one years ago. Hers zipped diagonally on the front. I didn’t realize the zipper was in the back and up high. If you have had rotator cuff,or any shoulder issues I would definitely would pass on this one. I still haven’t been able to zip this on and off alone. Its great if you are paddling with some one, but solo time I cant see getting this off and on alone. Overall everything else about it is great.
Great suit for the money!
There is a learning curve on the zipper location for sure. I do love the suit once you get it zipped up. The hood is a wonderful thing up here in Maine with the wind and driving snow! I do appreciate the fit and the build quality to the dry suit is superior. The only thing that would make this suit better is ditching the clam shell zipper location and going to a shoulder location for the zipper. Trying to unzip the suit by yourself is not much fun. Learning curve again! The location is right under the waistband, and you must fight with the band to lift it over the middle part of your back. If not, the zipper will bind. Is it a deal breaker? No, not for the end result of a well made suit that has all the bells and whistles one could ask for, "except the clam shell zipper"! I also must say that the waistband is a great item to have! I love the way it fits perfectly over my kayak skirt. Now, trying to get some feed back from Level 6, with some help on there product, well, not so good. I sent a email asking some questions and never got a reply. I find it to be a disappointment on that one aspect. In total, the suit is great! Customer service replying to questions on a $800.00 dry suit that I just purchased,, poor! I gave 4 stars, only because of the problematic zipper location. I must say that the zipper problem is getting better, but it sure isn't easy!
