My Goals for 2013

Winter was more than good to paddlers in Doubs (eastern France). We were blessed with heavy rainfall and therefore exceptional high water levels in November and December 2012.  I made the most of it and had great fun surfing the amazing waves at Deluz, La Malate and La Scie!

Snow followed on the heels of the rain! We jumped at the chance to surf the snowy Swiss mountains! We had a fantastic time with our Swiss friends, seeing in the New Year and snowboarding.

So, now for my New Year resolutions and my goals as an athlete! I’m getting off to a good start by helping out at a National Girls’ Freestyle Camp. End March, French girl paddlers will benefit from Jerome Gaudin’s expert coaching in the artificial river at Tournon St Martin. Three crazy days for honing their skills, swopping tips and basically having an amazing time together. Gonna be awesome!

Then, I’m heading off for a tour of national French competitions. Early April (6th and 7th), I’ll be competing in Tournon St Martin (in the middle of France). Next, I’m off to Pau in the South of France (27/28 April). At the end of June I’ll be back to the south of France at the Millau Natural Games and also the French Freestyle Championships.

I have one and only one objective – win these competitions so that I will be picked for the French national Team. Having reached this goal, I’ll be flying to the States to compete in the World Championships at the end of August and early September 2013. After all these years of effort, my sweat will earn me a medal.

I’m working on it and thanks to the support of my partners Level Six, STACCATO, my coach Jerome Gaudin and my family, I know it’s possible.

See you soon on the water!

Marlou.
