How could you not “like” these pooch’s!?!
The L6 Facebook Paddlin’ Pooch’s contest came to a close Sunday with rescue dog Puck on top!
Puck’s stoic stare won over the hearts of many L6 fans and he had strong support from the get-go, it looked like he was a shoe-in just days into the contest. It turns out that Puck suffers from seizures caused by idiopathic epilepsy and a congenital liver defect so he has to go everywhere with his foster mom--even kayaking on the river. Early in the contest, Puck seemed to have the win locked down!

It stayed that way until Seo, a black Labrador/slalom coach mix showed up on the page. Seo, like Puck, has been battling health issues being the end stages of lymphoma. Puck had his work cut out for him if he was going to fend off this pole leaning pooch!

It was back and forth, Seo and Puck, right up to the deadline, but it was a final Puck push that decided the winner. Congrats Puck, Seo and all the paddlin’ pooch’s out there!
Needless to say we were surprised with the amount of activity our contest generated. We were so touched by the stories and joy these dogs bring to people’s lives that we made a late change to the contest, deciding to donate $100 to the Ottawa Humane society.
Thanks for sharing your paddlin’ pooch’s with world!
